Gore, Brooks will play in Sunday’s game

Running back Frank Gore did not take part in a full practice this week due to an ankle sprain, but he will suit up and play Sunday against the Vikings, 49ers coach Mike Singletary said.

Gore is listed as probable for the game. He has said he is fine, and he does not walk or run with any noticeable discomfort.

Linebacker Marques Harris (toe) is listed as questionable on the team’s injury report. He is expected to be available to play, but it’s unclear whether he will be active for the game. Singletary said he will consult with special-teams coach Al Everest to determine whether Harris will suit up. Harris has four special-teams tackles in the first two games.

Singletary announced outside linebacker Ahmad Brooks will definitely be in uniform after returning from arthroscopic knee surgery. Brooks is listed as probably for the game.

Receiver Brandon Jones is not on the injury report, but it’s not known what kind of role he will have this week.

“I think he has to continue to find his niche,” Singletary said. “He missed a lot of time, and when he got hurt he was just beginning to get into a groove and find some synergy. It’s just a matter of him getting back in sync with the offense and what we’re trying to do.”

Jones, the highest-paid receiver on the team, will be looking to crack into the 49ers’ top three receivers. Arnaz Battle mostly holds the distinction, as he splits some time with Micheal Spurlock behind starters Isaac Bruce and Josh Morgan.

Other players listed as probable for the game are guard David Baas (ankle) and running back Glen Coffee (hip).
