  1. Excellent analysis of the inner workings of a stable genius in one’s own mind.
    .
Eternal stillness is mirrored in species specific belonging.

    1. Yes, it is formulaic, but I bet JG himself will admit he has to improve. Ball security and red zone inefficiency are 2 areas that need improvement.

  2. Instead of trying to sound smart, I would rather talk about how to stop McCaffrey.
    .
Grant thinks that Kwon is too slow to cover McCaffrey. He thinks Ward up close and Tarvarius Moore in the back, in the dime.
    .
I disagree. I think Kwon should stay on the field. Maybe use K’waun Williams as a spy on McCaffrey, because KW is good against the run.
    .
One of his keys to winning was – Making their field goal opportunities. I think they should be bold, and not settle for field goals. They should score TDs, not FGs.
    .
I do agree that JG needs to have better ball security. His tendency to throw a pick may be the difference between winning and losing.

    1. Let me try to put this in words you can actually comprehend while reading the Press Democrat atop your riding mower:
      .
You will never be me. Keep trying, clone.

        1. Strange alternate reality you dwell in. This blog is your life, and all you’ve got are detractors.
The power outage will give you a nervous breakdown, huh?

          1. No, the Niners are undefeated, and I am enjoying every minute of it.
            .
All the detractors? Does that mean I can take on a whole blog, and not work up a sweat?
            .
Actually, the trolls are a small minority. Most everyone else has too much class to devolve into being weak minded bullies.
            .
Yes, this reality, is that the Niners are relevant again, and it brings back good memories about the Glory Years. Is it my fault that the detractors want to pee on the bandwagon?
            .
I do not need this site to fulfill me, and if I was susceptible to becoming upset about the attacks and trolling, enough to have a nervous breakdown, I would have been a basket case a long time ago. However, they may not respect me, but I have even less regard for their cognitive ability. My detractors can yap at my heels, but I am just going to enjoy this season, and root hard for the team I love.

            1. As I remember, you Jonesed so bad after saying ‘It’s all over’ that you came back. No spine. No self respect. Yeah, 24-7 on here, you apparently do need this site to fulfill you. Deny and diss all you want, actions speak louder than words.

              1. I admit that it is hard work keeping up all of these profiles, but it keeps me out of trouble.
                .
I came back because my wife couldn’t stand having me nag her all day long. She told me to go after some grown-ups and they would put me in my place. (I have Grant remove them when they get to me)
                .
I will not cave in and continue my irrelevant, self serving and prophetic diatribes!
                .
                GO NINERS!!!!!

              2. I am back, after my hiatus, but this is no 4-12 team. If the Niners manage to win another ring, then I will feel fulfilled.
                .
It only seems like I am on 24-7 because of my catfish, but I have been off for long periods, because my work schedule is demanding more time.
                .
Your problem is that you become obsessed about me, when the better strategy would be to just scroll past. You seem to constrain yourself to snark, so you bring little to this site.
                .
Try talking about football, I could use a laugh.
                .
                GO NINERS !!!!!!

              3. its getting pretty bad over here man……sad to see what this blog is becoming!
were seeing the true grant, just a nasty little hater. A true troll! team is 6-0 and looking great….but all we hear is how bad JG is!!!!!!! even though the guy has a good completion %, great win -loss record and terrific success converting 3rd downs…….all for a guy who basically just completed his rookie season!!!!! Look around the league….how many young qb’s are stinking it up???!!!! Baker, Rosen, Darnold, Winston, Mariota, Wentz ,Goff to name a few!All this from a guy who couldnt throw a football 20 yards!
Then you got 3 sebs turning the comment section into a daily $H!t show!! users shouldnt be able to use the same EXACT name!! Legitimate web sites wont allow it!and the fact that 2 of ’em have the same avatar…..leads me to believe it is the SAME person! we are just seeing 2 of the guys many, odd, personality’s!!!! Cant believe hes been allowed to torment this blog for this long!!!! No integrity at all grant! A person clearly shows an unhealthy obsession with this blog, attacks others for simply being sick of his creepiness then displays multi personality’s and strange outburst….. and you allow it ‘cuz he represents %70 of you blog “hits”………while you try and torment a good, young qb on a good team…….’cuz you cant stand to see them succeed! Sad, im outta here for good! NN my new home page for all things 49ers!

              4. See ya j…you’ll be back…Grant is right about JG. He gives JG props and he gives some critizism about the 1 int per game, how his foot mechanics need work and how he locks into 1 wr at times. All true, he told grant his knee swells. Maybe he needs more starts but he’ll get better. The Seb thing is getting out of hand though. You are totally wrong to say grant torments JG and can’t stand to see the team succed, rubbish.

  3. I find it hard to imagine having a qb problem who is 12-2 as our starter. But I guess having a 3-5 starting qb isn’t the problem.

    1. The qb 12 wins wasn’t b/c of him, simple. Just don’t look at the wins. The D and run game carry the team now. Look at how JG has been playing ‘lately’. Is he a 100% yet..and after 3 years being here and about a full year of starts, does he know this system yet?…maybe’s..but the other 2 qb’s can do what JG is doing now- 200yd/1td/1int per game stuff. Is JG worth a huge $137M contract, will he get better. Of course he doesn’t need 350yds/3td games, any $5M qb can hand off the ball and pass for 200yds and 55% comp. JG needs better foot mechanics, throw off the front foot basics. Hope he has a great game Sunday and gets better.

      1. So explain to me even before this season how jimmy was 6-2 as a starter while Mullens is 3-5 and beathard is 1-10. So I see your point how they can do what Jimmy’s does.

      2. Mullens can easily throw for 200yds 1 td+ per game and has done it which is what JG throws now. Forget 2017, different player now. The W’s is the whole team contributing, see.

  4. This dude.. He just can’t help himself…No matter the “subject matter “he will make it his business to find a way to criticize Jimmy…smdh..I’m telling you…Since Dante cornered him and shook all his bravado up out of him…he’s decided to pick on the one guy he knows he’s safe from being cornered again. Jimmy would never approach this guy about something stupid he said…and he knows it…It’s internet bullying/ trolling at its lowest!!!?‍♂️??

    1. No. I know all about internet bullying/trolling, since I am a frequent target. Grant is just doing his job, asking tough questions, and talking about salient issues.
      .
Pettis did get upset, like a young rookie unused to criticism. Usually, back in the college days, they were kissing his rear end, but now, in the big leagues, he has not produced like he should. Refusing to go over the middle. Short arming the ball. Hearing footsteps and dropping easy catches. Grant did call him out, and how did he respond? By going over the middle and making those tough catches. So maybe Grant was using his criticism as a motivational tool. Now that Pettis did better, Grant praised his play. If Pettis does not want criticism, he needs to improve, with consistent production, fighting for the ball.
      .
Grant is at the practices, and he heard Pettis getting ripped by KS. Tough love. In this last game, KS criticized Pettis. KS said that even offensive pass interference is much better than a pick. Are you saying by KS ripping Pettis, he is being bullied? Even the Niner FO were not satisfied with Pettis, because they spent third and 4th round picks to obtain Sanders. Pettis was not good enough, so they needed an upgrade.
      .
Concerning JG, his ACL knee is a reality. Grant is just doing what others in the media are afraid of doing. Asking tough questions about a limiting factor, with rehabilitation concerns. Guess you were not concerned it swells up on the plane after games, but that is something I certainly think is important.
      .
Maybe it would explain why his throws do not seem to have the same zip on the ball, like during his 5 game win streak in 2017. JG seems to be throwing a pick a game. I hope JG will accept that criticism, and work harder on ball security. He has been fortunate to win these games, even though he had turnovers in the red zone. He should be getting at least 3 points every time he gets to the red zone, not zero points.
      .
Richard Sherman is a grizzled veteran. He says it best. He welcomes criticism, so he has motivation to prove them wrong. He does not bask in the adulation, because that would make him soft and complacent. He knows that if he lets the arse kissers make him let his guard down, that is when the offense will punch him in the mouth.
      .
Do not worry. JG took some pointed questions from Grant about his knee. JG was cool and calm, and did his best to answer hard hitting questions. JG was very professional, because he expects to field tough questions. That is part of his job description. JG did not get upset, and accuse Grant of bullying. Grant was just doing his job, and doing it well.
      .
Since this team is undefeated, are they above reproach? Is it verboten to say anything that might be perceived as negative, because it might negatively upset the players? Well, maybe you should accuse KS of bullying, because he outlined every bad play from the Rams game.

      1. As the nights grow long my penchant for wetting the old feather dip pen beckons me atop the mowing rider.
        .
I slowly struggle with the here and now and succumb to the intense call of the night.
        .
I quickly file away my thoughts on that unfinished retaining wall. The unwashed masses hunger in agonizing anticipation for my carefully curated literary feast. But I am not a gatherer, not a hunter, but merely one whose observations merit the noblest of prizes.

But alas I refrain from speaking further on the happenings amongst the clones.

        1. Catfish, now you are not sounding like me, but have just resorted to mockery.
          .
Man up, and make your own avatar.

          1. Seb,

Your creation in your own image has gone Frankenstein. You should get out—move back to Niner Nation– before the citizens storm the castle of Darmstadt.

            1. Naw, NN is bereft of content, and that clique just twitters amongst themselves.
              .
Soon I will have my own avatar, probably of a Niner who has 5 rings.

        2. It’s the Robot Moron. Not fooling anyone. You’re Seb’s binary dark star. You likely wouldn’t exist without him. Count your blessings that he’s here.

      2. Ah baloney, Sebs–you did far, far more than shower this team with constructive criticism………….don’t make me ask Cassie to go into the archives……..

And then they went 6-0–because KS was bankrupt of ideas and needed you to bail him out!

      1. no grant, you did! Your creepy little pet seb…….its just disgusting! Pettis did corner you…..after he called you out face to face…..you began to praise him, even though he did nothing to earn it, and stopped criticizing him! You moved onto JG ‘cuz you know he wouldnt give you the time of day! anyone that has been around here long enough to know you…..knows exactly whats going on…..your laying the foundation to blame everything on JG if we dont win it all this year ( this team is so good, those are now the stakes)……you play the odds like you always do….even though we look great, the odds are still against us…..your taking the field! You hope anyone else wins the SB, then you can spend all off season pretending to be smart, telling everyone how you called it all along etc etc. you have a dream job…..but instead of actually REPORTING anything……you go around trying to prove your smarter than everyone ( just like your creepy pal seb)……and this is why no one likes you!

        1. smart people dont have to go around trying to PROVE they are SMART!!! only grant and seb…..might be the same person….

REPLY: 49ers will employ Warner or Greenlaw or a safety on McCaffrey.

#49ers starting linebacker trio of Kwon Alexander, Fred Warner and Dee Greenlaw we’re all wearing Hot Boyzz shirts in warmups.

‘Hot Boyzz’: 49ers linebackers have new shirts to go along with newfound dominance

    © Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports

    “The block is hot.

When teams line up against the 49ers’ front six of Nick Bosa, DeForest Buckner, Arik Armstead, Dee Ford, Kwon Alexander and Fred Warner, they’re in for an extraordinarily bad time.

The heat comes from all directions, and that includes the aggressive secondary tackling from safeties Jaquiski Tartt, Jimmie Ward, and nickel corner K’Waun Williams, plus the depth provided by Ronald Blair, D.J. Jones, Sheldon Day, Solomon Thomas and Dre Greenlaw”….USA Today Sports

    THE HEAT IS ON

    1. Reply to the reply- Kwon is fast enough to cover TEs and RBs, Warner is not, and Greenlaw is a raw rookie.
      .
If the Niners take out a LB and put in a safety, the Panthers will run the ball.
      .
Will they put a spy on McCaffrey, or just rely on playing sound fundamental defense? We will find out in a couple days.

        1. I did not call him TrollD, because he actually talked about football to me, and did not go on a rant.

        2. Indubitably.
          .
I just call TomD a troll to deflect from the real Troll.

Talking about the guy who irritates the hell out of so many that he’s now fighting with himself to attract more attention.
          GROW UP!

          1. Oh, how cute. click is defending the trolls.
            .
You really should direct your ire at them, not me.

            1. sebnynah, I’m not trying to defend you
YOU are the troll with your constant monologues with your self.
No one believes that there is an ‘alter ego’ or a catfish.
              YOU are the catfish!
You are just a pawn, clickbait (no pun intended) for the uneducated of which you seem to be the biggest victim….

  6. Two men, fifth-year veteran Arik Armstead and third-year veteran Solomon Thomas, have played vital roles in the defensive line’s major transformation.

This year, Armstead is playing better than he did in 2018. Through six games, he has already surpassed his previous career-high in quarterback sacks.

Armstead decided on the first play of the game to throw some heat and announce his presence with authority.
There was nothing magical or exotic from the defensive front, nor Armstead. What we witnessed was an unstoppable force exposing all the flaws.

Solomon Thomas: Saleh moved Thomas back inside, and he sacked Goff for an eight-yard loss. His speed, combined with his overall strength, was too much for Rams’ center Brian Allen….Somehow, Saleh needs to harness this moment in time for Thomas and get him to repeat it 15-20 times a game.

    https://www.49erswebzone.com/commentary/2185-film-field-house-look-arik-armstead-solomon-thomas/

Armstead continues to prove to be a quality edge defender.

    1. Watched it this morning. All of his videos are top notch. Everyone needs to subscribe if they already havent.

    2. Thanks for posting this. Very interesting. The only thing I didn’t understand is why he said multiple times that having five players on the defensive line (a la the Seahawks) forced the strong safety into the box. He used the term “forced” multiple times. I would have thought it was more of a choice by Carroll. Anyone know why he is saying that the strong safety is forced into the box?

      1. Because he is filling the void left in the zone by the fifth man on the line of scrimmage. That forces the stong safety down in the box to play the zone.

        Ala Kam Chancellor in Seattle.

      2. Gap integrity would be my assessment on the word choice. Otherwise it leaves you vulnerable to runs.

    3. Cool breakdown. Very glad to see Warner getting recognition for his role in the D playing so well. Alexander seems to be getting the accolades at LB, but Warner has been excellent all year with his reads. And as the guy said, this D puts a lot of stress on the LBs, in particular the MLB, to be very disciplined yet react immediately and quickly to his keys.

      1. The linebacker corps has played with intelligence and ferocity. The front line gets plenty of merited accolades but the lbs are also a big part of this year’s success.

  7. This game is all about Kyle Allen being able to step up and face one of the fiercest defenses in the league. If Allen wins or at the very least does well and keeps the game to a one possession score, it will be taps for Cam Zoolander.

This should be a very interesting game. Carolina is no slouch defensively and Rivera and company have had two weeks to prep for this game.

It’s going to come down to which QB handles the pressure the best and makes the least amount of TO’s and bad decisions in critical situations.

I’d take the under here with Carolina covering.

First really tough team the Niners have played.

    A good test.

    1. You should change your name to Captain Obvious.
      .
You have parroted my analysis of this game to a tee. ;p
      .
      GO NINERS!!

    2. Kyle Allen has 8 fumbles in 6 career games. He will cough it up twice and throw his first interception on the season. I’m thinking he probably throws 2 ints minimum. He is simply over matched and he hasn’t seen anything like our defense.

    3. Sorry, Captain, it is just my catfish, trying to troll you.
      .
I think you have good insights, and hope to see more of your posts.

  8. Those of you who continue to banter with Seb, are the ones that have moronic interest and delves into deep holes of oblivion. In short you are assholes.

  9. 16 starts and 14 wins doesn’t sound like a QB problem to me. Technically he only has one loss to the Vikings in a close game. He was hurt in his loss to KC. We were driving at the time too.

This isn’t fantasy football and player stats are useless in the real NFL. Typically an NFL game comes down to a couple of big plays and that’s the difference in the game. Those are the plays that Jimmy makes consistently with pressure in his face.

It’s sad when a professional journalists doesn’t even know what he is reporting on without looking at a stat sheet.

  10. First–if Grant can see this (no shade meant for Grant) then u know Shanny and JG know it. I am sure it is being addressed. 2nd–i hope there is nothing wrong like last time with Goodwin addressing personal stuff. Third–Sanders, Samuel, Pettis, Richie, Bourne, Mathews, and Goodwin. Seven wides on the 53 man roster will not last. Is there any trade value for Goodwin? He only has 11 catches all year. I would think all the rest, including Mathews, have to much youthful upside. And him not being able be an almost number 1 wide receiver is why we had to trade for Sanders anyway.

  11. “The good news for the Panthers is that rookie QB Kyle Allen has yet to throw an interception through 4 games this season. The bad news is that he has been sacked 10 times and fumbled and alarming 6 times in that same span. That could mean that Bosa, Ford, Buckner, or Armstead could have a huge role in the game, disrupting Allen and forcing a mistake.”

  12. Seb said he’s been putting in some overtime in his lawn maintenance job.

Let’s hope his weed eater didn’t spark a patch of weeds like he told us happened when he partially burnt down his neighbor’s house ?

I’m positive they rotate midnight surveillance watches on your home–fingers on emergency speed dial—obviously hoping you move; just as this site does.

  13. GRANT COHN
…. My freaking God in heaven ABOVE…
I Want so badly to stay on your blog. I love the info and 95% of the posters. Been getting some of my Niners fix from the PD for YEARS, although I now live all the way across the country.
But I am so sick and tired of this Sebnynah IDIOT constantly hijacking what could otherwise be healthy, intellectual football discussions. I’m leaving for good dude. You have my email address. If you ever get rid of this narrcisstic simpleton with a superiority complex, I’ll come back. Otherwise your inaction makes you just as culpable as Sebnynah. 35 years of reading the Press Democrat down the drain… Your blog commenters have ruined your blog bro. Your readership is NEVER gonna grow if you don’t do something. Take it easy man. Good luck to you…..
    Highly Disappointed Reader

    1. You have to understand that I am the victim.
      .
All my post are kind and to the point. I never call anybody any names.
      .
I have changed my avatar so you can distinguish between the blue guy and the REAL sebnynah!
      .
Tomorrow I’ll make a big announcement for all my fans and followers to stop all this nonsense.
      .
      GO NINERS!!!

      1. You are full of crap….you have insulted and treated newcomers like me with total disrespect along with most others on this blog……nobody here likes you at all with your waffling wishy washy know it all monologue. Hey you are smug, sullen, insulting and a shame to the people in California. Period

        1. I humbly apologize if I ever insulted you monty, I only do it to defend myself. Growing up in Hawaii from Asian decent I have always had to defend myself against Haoles and use my wit to fight back against bigger people.
          .
I have been a steady contributor with many praises from all kinds of people. If Grant thought I was amiss, I’m sure he’d take appropriate actions, but then again he might also use me as ‘clickbait’ to generate some extra income.
          .
Nice W-W-W alliteration by the way, but so far from the truth. But I do appreciate an erudite opponent.

        1. PT,

That’s a Seb bot. They have Seb speak down to a science, so sometimes it’s hard to tell.

I agree with Monty and Electric eels. Seb bully’s the newcomers and carjacks all discussion.

          1. TrollD, what a nice surprise that you are looking out for me, alas this is the REAL sebnynah with a new avatar to distinguish me from the blue catfish.
            .
Even though I would like to, it’s impossible to carjack an online discussion.
            .
            GO NINERS!!!

      1. Well Grant why don’t you tell us what your criteria are for banning people.
I understand that people more benign than sebnynah have been banned in the past.

          1. Of course ‘Abusive Behavior’ is open to personal interpretation but it seems that a lot of people here are complaining about just that in regards to ‘sebnynah’….
Have you ever asked him to temper his ways?

              1. That’s funny!
I suppose when someone is provocative they are the victim of abuse when people respond in kind…..

              2. Seb derails FB talk with his automaton lobotomy buddies who add nothing but fuel for Seb’s narcissism.

If ever an intelligent conversation occurs, count on Seb to derail the participants with a burner account to demean and insult, thereby, making Seb appear the sage of this site.

              3. It’s gone beyond just ignoring Seb, and he’s not the problem.

You now have someone who has figured out how to get the same avatar and is mimicking him, drowning out any football discussion.

You also have a commenter who is known to use multiple different aliases.

The fun has been sucked out of the board.

              4. Grant the biggest complaint for this site is that it is really hard to ignore sebnynah because of his excessive posting and constant attacking of others.
He uses multiple accounts to get his point across.
To tell TomD to stop name calling when talking about sebnynah takes the cake!
Tom has been called TrollD in every post by your sebnynah….

              5. WOW Grant.
                “Grow Up”???
That’s your response to what I hoped to be an adult conversation about an obvious problem?
You’ve allowed him to dominate this site and alienate plenty of people.
“grow up ” might come back to bite you unless you were talking to your self…..

              6. Grant is right……Grow up and ignore the noise….its really not that complex scrolling down the page….

My only complain is Grant please give us something to read..no offense i cannot stand watching videos of you in a suit and tie?……

Don’t sell your soul to the media …stick with the writing ….more writing…

              7. Grant, speaking of growing up, how about imploring PD’s IT (if such a thing exists) for a more mature blog software? That anyone can post, under any name, without registering is just asking for the troubles this blog is plagued with. It’s no longer 1990.

          2. I have to question whether this is actually being applied. For the past week or two, we’ve had thread after thread ruined by sh!tposting trolls who orbit sebnynah. You must have seen it. Yet nothing has been done. If you can’t be bothered to moderate the comments, ask the PD to have someone look over them and do so. I enjoy banter, and even trolling and sh!tposting to some extent, but this is obnoxious. I doubt I’m the only one who feels this way.

      2. I believe that comment s/b directed at the Sebs’. They are anti-freedom of speech, mentioning banning, or sending in the luftwaffe bots when they are on the losing end.

        1. TrollD you are a de-light in my eyes!
What a nice treat to see you defend me!
          .
To show that I carry no ill will towards you, I’ll refer to you as Tomboy from now on!
Watch out for the BLUE catfish!
          .
          GO NINERS!!!

        2. Jacks got Seb’s number, Grant. He’s exactly right….Hard to ignore 10 Sebs’ hijacking the thread.

My friend was on the site for 15 minutes and his first statement was: “Seb hijacks the thread”, and like all others above, you’re the only one blind to this?

            1. Are you Seb’s high school buddy? All of the above see the elephant in the room—the one with 20 burner accounts hijacking intelligent FB talk.

We can obviously ignore Seb, but your missing the point, Grant….Hard to converse when 20 of the burner accounts derail the fun!

              1. Gran it’s time to take a break from playing microphone and get your blog cleaned up.
That starts with getting rid of the wart known as sebnynah!

              2. “You should be ashamed of yourself.”???
                Are we back in HS?
Grant if this really is you talking, you’re not doing your self any favors.
Taking your age in consideration, you probably don’t care. From listening to your own stories, you’re not making yourself popular in the locker room either.
Take your own advice. Grow. UP.
You never know when you need a friend….

              3. I’ve wondered if Grant is actually Seb.
Maybe fake Seb has been created by Grant to ensure what every blog needs – hits.
Grant sounds like he’s protecting his creation.

              4. AES, ask Razor or scooter if I am real. Grant was on Hotmic while I was posting on Thursday.
                .
We may both be verbose, but Grant has a more edgy delivery, and I am more deliberative.
                .
I will also fully acknowledge that Grant knows football. way more than me.

              5. The only “proof” I have of anyone on here is the one I’ve met in person, and that’s Undercenter. The rest of y’all could be Grant for all I know!?

    2. TomD, Prime Time, Monty, Catfish. I’m not about to demand anyone get banned, but let’s be real here – would anyone miss a single one of them if they never posted again? What do they bring to the site? There are plenty more I strongly disagree with, but they just share their views. These four do nothing worthwhile, and revolve their entire posting around Sebbie. They’re obsessed.

      1. Yes. The main issue on this blog is the obsession with Seb. Amazing (and sad) how many people seem to live their days waiting for Seb to post so they can reply. Or just cut out the middle man and post under his name.

        1. Rena you are new here but Scooter should know what it was like before Seb showed up.
That’s all I gotta say about the problem.

          1. I’ve been here about a year. New in regards to the full history of the blog, sure, but a year is long enough to make judgments about the community, in my view.

I don’t care what the blog was like pre-Seb. Maybe it was better. The point is, you, Prime, are toxic. Toxic, and a cancer to this community. I’m not saying that to insult you. You actively reduce the quality and you revel in doing so. You go out of your way to ruin the experience for everyone else, apparently because you’re throwing a tantrum about Seb ruining it for you. Seb isn’t the problem. His volume of posts are a minor annoyance at times, and some of the stuff he says has me lost for words, but you can engage with him genuinely, and he’ll engage back, and won’t go out of his way to flame. You, on the other hand, do nothing worthwhile. If you care so much about the quality of the blog, I suggest you re-evaluate your approach here. Because not only is it not working, it’s making you the issue. Unfortunately, you’re not the only one. It’s a shame too, because the rare times you don’t orbit Seb you’re actually okay. I, for example, enjoyed your back and forth with Jack a few weeks ago. So you can do it. You just choose not to do so.

            1. Trust me Rena. You remove Seb and this blog returns to what it was. A year is nothing. I’ve been here since the Maiacco days where it was all football.
People say just ignore Seb and scroll past. Count the number of posts, the interruption he brings to threads.
Yes I am harsh on Seb because if we don’t police the blog ourselves, as you can tell no one does, and this is the state it’s in now. Garbage!

You tell me I’m toxic. That’s fine. I’m not here to post, I’m here to read others and their comments. I can talk football with the best of them but I choose to read versus write. So when I have to scroll past 10-30 entries a day from that loser, yeah I’m a little bitter.

              1. PT, If you remove me where would all the fun and bitching go?
                .
                I’m not a loser, I predicted a 16-0 season!

              2. “I’ve been here since the Maiacco days were it was all football.”

The funny part is that you can’t just stick to football yourself.

              3. Anyone when it comes to talking about Seb cannot stick to football. Including your self Jack.

You guys want to blame me for the Seb backlash. More than half the blog is saying the same thing I am.

            2. Thank you Renas. I agree.I am still here, and all they do will not make any difference. They will type like mad, wasting time, and making this site full of foul boorish behavior. Then tomorrow rolls around, and they can keep doing what they do, or realize that they look like spoiled brats, peeing on this bandwagon.
              .
Do they stick to football? No, Ol’ Prime wants to be the blog police, and wields a heavy baton. It just makes him look judgemental, and mental.
              .
I am glad that Grant has my back. He is the one who called me a legend. I feel fortunate to be able to post on this site, and I do think that many on here, have above average football knowledge.
              .
Me, I come here to have fun. I like chronicling this wild ride to relevance. I am going to take Richard Sherman’s invitation, and point out mistakes, deficiencies and weaknesses, because he likes those, to keep him on his toes.
              .
I am glad you have come her, Renas. I consider you one of the regulars, now. Thank you for disagreeing with me without being disagreeable. I like nothing better than a spirited debate, and i like your foreign perspective.
              .
Do not worry about me. I have been inured to their barbs, and they cannot affect me, because i do not let them. If they think they sound smart by spewing diatribes, they just are not aware of how they sound.
              .
Prime, I have made you bitter? You just made my day. ;p

  14. Yes I have to agree with Grant..JimmyP is no Brady Montana etc etc….he is a serviceable qb at best middle of the road….can we win with him>>>?? yes….Is he a super star QB;;??? no….

Still need help at WR though I have said this for years….

PS Grant please rid this sight of all things Seb…thanks man

  15. You’ve gotten quite good at understanding the game, better than most, but you’ve seriously whiffed on calling people out in the past and I have a feeling that the QB will prove to be a good one too. This week should be a good test though, he’ll definitely be looking at Sanders a bunch. Appreciate the insights into the metrics of the game, thanks!

  16. Yeah it’s me again. Grant Please for the sake of humanity and every Niner fan in the World, get a new job. Any job, just not one having anything to do with the Forty Niner’s. My Grand Daughter who does Video announcements and films her High School’s football game’s, puts you to shame.

    1. “Forty Niner’s.”
      “Game’s.”

I’m sure your “Grand Daughter” spells better than you, too. She’s gifted.

      1. Lol. Quit while ur ahead Grant. These guys have more time on their hands than you to keep this thing going lmao. Oh, quit hatin on jimmy :)

      1. *Site didn’t print the entire comment just above, so it’s out of context.

In the native american episode of Seinfeld, Jerry portrays a person who s/b the strict definition of shameful, but by circumstance. This is what I believe happened here.

  18. Looking at that 2017 draft again, in a do-over, obviously the 49ers wouldn’t take Thomas at #3 and it would either be Mahomes or Watson. But aside from a QB, the guy I think would just have been a perfect fit for this system is McCaffrey. What a player. I know the position is highly replaceable and reliant on the play of a lot of others to be good, but McCaffrey’s the complete package as a modern day RB/receiver. He’d be dynamite for the 49ers.

Stopping McCaffrey is going to be tough. But I don’t think it is about putting one person on him. He’ll beat whoever is marking him 1-on-1 too often. Key will be to keep McCaffrey in front of the D as much as possible and rally to stop YAC, and the pass rush has to make Allen get the ball out quick. I expect a lot of zone.

    1. Scooter, McCaffrey will be hard to stop, his multifaceted game makes him a constant threat. Keeping him from YAC will be a challenge but it will be fun to watch.

Forcing Carolina to be one dimensional though may be the best option. I think the 49ers have to get to the QB and force the quick passing game into a running first option.

    2. Pretty much agree on the stopping McCaffrey take. Would add that a strong performance by the 9er punt team can force the Panthers to start drives deep in their own territory. The deeper the better.

    3. McCaffrey or either of those qb’s would probably not have enjoyed the success they’re having if drafted by those 49ers. All three went to teams that were ideal situations….

  19. An okay Periscope Grant, but why no mention of Burns when discussing the issue with the deep pass and how he could play into said issue on Sunday? You also seemed to be looking a little to the right rather than straight forward into the camera. Maybe you always been doing this and I had not noticed until now. I don’t know.
I think you are overanalyzing Garoppolo with regards to his struggles on deep passes. A look at Garoppolo’s scouting reporting from when he was in the draft shows that some of the issues you believe he is experiencing due to not trusting that he has fully healed up are actually problems he was listed as having when he was coming out of Eastern Illionois. By all indications, they may issues that are a part of his game and that the 49ers need to work around.
In regards to your tech question, a Google search suggests the best route is to get Adobe Premier Pro to resolve your conundrum. It is considered the best program to edit iPhone videos. It is $20.99/month, but I would suggest going for the All Apps options if you can afford $52.99/month because it is the better bang for your buck deal.

    1. … or just acquire a cracked version after spoofing the license checker? Adobe is one of the easiest suites to pirate.

  20. out of 110 post’s…over 30 are Seb’s……..guess we will just have to ignore 30% of all posting’s on this blog from now on thanks…….yes this place is getting weird…..

    1. Frisco Kid, 15 of them were mine, and 10 were responses. I made 5 comments.
      .
The others were catfish burner accounts, so do not blame me for their obsession.
      .
Speaking of obsessions, are you still hating on Jed? I remember you wanted them to fail miserably, so Jed would be fired.
      .
Personally, I think Jed has done well. He has assembled a good organization, and let them do their jobs. I also like the fact that Jed is keeping a low profile. He is learning, and growing.

  21. From our comrades at PFF…

    PFF SF 49ers
    ‏@PFF_49ers

Despite tearing his Achilles late last season, Emmanuel Sanders has been an effective receiver for the Broncos and brings his route-running talents to the #49ers.

    Sanders receiving grades

    2018: 80.3
    2019: 80.1

      1. Kittle has, and Sanders will.
        .
I would also like to see Toilolo help in the passing game.
        .
I also said that Matthews was the logical choice. He has not taken very many snaps.

  22. Blah…blah…i scoff at those that would have drafted McCaffrey…..dumb stuff, these are the kind of comments that shows a lack of what the 49ers are really about……bunch of fake fans!!!!

Count me in the group that thought Carolina made a blunder drafting the small framed kid.

Also thought they were making a huge mistake making him the focal point of the offense especially with all those reps…..

Boy was i wrong…..McCaffrey is non-human……i have been into the NFL for years and I have never seen a similar workhorse like McCaffrey. I know and respect his family background.

How this kid can continue to be 40% of Carolina offense is amazing.

Solomon Thomas was our pick….and should have been our pick……sure we could have drafted a QB but we were not set up for a rookie qb.. ….we needed Dline help….not a RB or QB

At least we were not the bears who gave up draft picks and still lost out on the 2 better QB in the draft.

    1. Good breakdown Oneniner. While the team could have gone for Mahomes, Watson, or McCaffrey with their first round pick in 2017, the reality is that the team desperately needed defensive line help given the poor run defense and pass rush at the time and uncertainty surrounding Armstead.

    2. Not sure if this was in response to my comment or not, but I wasn’t referring to the draft thought process at the time. I meant if the 49ers had their time over knowing what they know now then Thomas would not be the pick, and McCaffrey sure would have looked good on this team. Not really sure why the need for calling people dumb and fake fans for pointing this out, but hey, pretty much par for the course on this site these days.

    3. sure we could have drafted a QB

Taking a QB with #1 pick was definitely not in the team plans then. Remember at that time they were going to sign FA Cousins the next off season.

      1. I can’t see that KS would bring in a rookie QB as a starting QB, let alone rookie QBs who pretty much only played out of the shotgun in college.

  23. Hmm…Carolina up next…

    I am concerned about
    McCaffrey
    Norv Turner
    Their All pro LB
    Eric Reid

But we are at home….the crowd should be nuts….not sure if this will JimmyG big breakout game especially with Sanders changing up the choices….Richie Jr and Breida and Mostert should have a good game…

End result….the Allen kid will look bad….Calls for Cam Newton to return….the media continues to find reasons to doubt the 7-0 niners.. .

  24. Matt Maiocco
    ‏@MaioccoNBCS

Check out the entire interview with Kyle Shanahan on #49ers Game Plan on NBC Bay Area (Ch. 3) at 7 p.m. We talk about Emmanuel Sanders and preview the game Sunday vs. the #Panthers.

    Caution…. Matt has been outed–by some–as a toady….

    1. He is unabashedly a huge Niner fan. He also gets fed the juicy news and gossip ahead of everyone else. They let him be one of the first to ask questions, I believe, so they favor him, big time.
      .
He would not say toady. He would say he is the 49er beat reporter, associating himself closely with the team.

    1. 49ers 28
      Panthers 24

This is a trap game that the 49ers could very easily lose if they are not careful.

          1. I think the team is too young for a trap game. Still doing things for the first time. Ownership just told them the direction the team is heading, this team is going to come out fired up.

            1. The years they’ve spent losing, winning is not taken for granted. It’s like growing up poor, and working your way to financial independence….

        1. Basically the reasons why some thought the Redskins game was a trap game for the 49ers are what I am applying to tomorrow’s game.

          1. I didn’t think last week was a trap game either, so maybe you can explain your thoughts.

            1. This is more like a GPS game…see how we match up with a potential playoff team

Last week was a trap game….playing a 1 win team on the road in bad weather…

      1. I wish to amend my prediction. Should be a rather modest scoring affair.
        .
        Niners 26-25.
        .
        GO NINERS!!

  25. By the time the first walk-through was over on Wednesday, you could tell he understood the offense and we’d be able to move him around,” Shanahan said. “It’s been as good as it could be for the first week.”

Shanny also said they’d been game planning as if Sanders were already on the team to pressure Lynch into making the trade. He also said he plans on using Sanders a lot. He’s really doing a good job of forcing the Panthers to alter their best laid plans over the past 10 days they’ve had to game plan….

        1. If Dante is down to less than 5 touches a game over the next few games it certainly will be an indication.
I like him but I don’t think Shanny does. They have very few plays designed for him and when he does get his number called, it’s boom or bust.
Maybe you don’t give up on him but the way the organization is moving forward it looks that way.

          1. They let Mathews go so they must still see something in Pettis and/or they are giving him every chance to improve.

          2. He’s being humbled. Sophomore slump, whatever you wanna call it. He’ll continue to get his opportunities over the next 10 games, and we’ll see how he finishes….

  26. Breida isn’t as durable as McCaffrey, but he’s just as lethal when the ball is in his hands. The reason we don’t need a top end back is the system, and Mr. Turner. Let the Panthers ride McCaffrey all season long into the dirt, but this Sunday he’s gonna be eating it….
