Rogers on Amendola: “In a 14-play drive, they’re going to throw him the ball at least 7 times.”

SANTA CLARA – Carlos Rogers spoke in the media tent Wednesday afternoon. Here’s what he said about the Rams No.1 wide receiver Danny Amendola, who has missed the past three games with a clavicle injury, but will play and face Rogers this Sunday.

Q: How does Danny Amendola impact their offense?

ROGERS: A lot. A whole lot. He’s a guy they use in the slot – I’ll be facing him a lot. Quick guy. Not very fast, but explosive getting in and out of his cuts. In a 14-play drive, they’re going to throw him the ball at least seven times. He’s their main target. Anytime he’s on the field, any time he’s moving, we think they’re trying to get him the ball.

Q: Do you think he’ll play this weekend?

ROGERS: They say he’s going to play. I’m preparing for him to play. Hopefully I’ll be ready to go against another short, quick guy. He’s similar to Victor Cruz they way they use him on so many different routes from the slot. He’s going to be a big challenge.
