The fans are being taken for granted.

This has been the assumption all along during this labor dispute. Don’t worry about the fans. They’ll come back. We can’t irritate them enough. We can’t frustrate, anger or disappoint them to the point they would stay away. They will be there waiting for us.

We – the owners and players – will find a way to divide up the $9 billion pie and all will be forgotten. Niner fans, all fans, are being taken for granted.

Or as Gary Radnich said this morning on KNBR, “Don’t you love it when you hear a player or an owner talk about always having the fans in mind? That they are doing this for the fans? I’d like for anyone who thinks the owners and the players are keeping the fans in mind through all this to give me a call.”

I always have loved Gary’s sense of humor.
