49ers favored. Again.

In scanning the comments on this blog, I’ve come to the insightful conclusion that many of y’all have lost faith in the 49ers.

Given the circumstances surrounding the team — most notably that 4-8 record — a lack of faith seems completely reasonable.

But Las Vegas doesn’t share your pessimistic outlook. The sharks have installed San Francisco as a five-point favorite in Sunday’s game against the visiting Seahawks, marking the 10th time in 13 games the Niners have been favored this season (they are 4-5 as favorites).

I wrote a bit about this phenomenon
prior to the 49ers’ 27-6 win against Arizona. At that time an oddsmaker
said, “I think at some point if they continue to play the way they are,
they can’t continue to be favored.”

We haven’t reached that point.
