Staley: “We don’t have time to worry about favorites. Kaepernick is our guy and we support him 100 percent.”

SANTA CLARA – Joe Staley spoke in the 49ers locker room Wednesday afternoon. Here’s what he said about Colin Kaepernick.

Q: Jim Harbaugh said this afternoon Colin Kaepernick has earned the right to play this Sunday. Do you expect this to be a week-to-week thing?

STALEY: No. Kaepernick is our starter and we support him 100 percent. All that other stuff, I think it’s moot. We’re all worried about doing the best job we can to get W’s. Whoever is out there, we support them 100 percent.

Q: Is there much talk among the offensive line about changing quarterbacks? Would guys rather block for one guy or the other?

STALEY: No. It’s a situation where whoever Coach Harbaugh chooses, that’s the guy we’re rolling with.  We’re all worried about getting W’s. We’re all worried about doing our jobs to the best of our abilities. We don’t have time to worry about favorites. Kaepernick is our guy and we support him 100 percent.

Q: Kaepernick can run around, escape the rush and break tackles. Does that take some of the teeth out of the pass rush?

STALEY: A little bit. Sometimes depending on the defense, they have to watch out for contain. It does sometimes slow it down depending on the defense they have called.

Q: Cameron Wake said he’s going to try to bait Kaepernick into making the wrong reads.

STALEY: I think he’s talking about our option game and our read game. We’ve been practicing those plays all season. We’re well versed on that.
