Training camp report: Thursday, the not-so-good – tough day for one cornerback

SANTA CLARA – Starting cornerback Tarell Brown has been one of the hardest workers in training camp, but he had a rough practice on Thursday against the scout-team offense.

Twice Brown got beaten by undrafted rookie wide receiver Brian Tyms – once for a touchdown, and another time for a 15-yard completion.

A few plays after the 15-yard completion, Brown gave up a first-down reception on third-and-five to another undrafted wide receiver – Ben Hannula.

Afterward, Tarell Brown, Carlos Rogers and Dashon Goldson had a discussion on the sideline about how Brown should have defended those passes.

  2. Hov says:

Maybe cox or cully should start over mr brown

  3. Ninermd says:

Good to see the offense punching back.

    • Big niner says:

maybe they’re finally jelling a little where before they were robotic, while the defense naturally reads and therefor more ready.

The not so good. Last day where the media is allowed to view practices. We got what about 3 weeks till game 1, ah man thats going to be a long time.

Did anyone else catch that Packers-Browns game? I understand it is preseason, but that GB defense looks ugly. The Browns were just pushing them around in the run game, very little pressure on Weeden.

Had to laugh at them bringing Charles Woodson down into the box at one point. The TE that blocked him threw him around like a rag doll.

Week 1 cannot get here fast enough.

    • JDilla says:

GB defense has never been good. It as has been inflated by their turnover ratio. Beside that, their D sucks. IE: Woodson moving inside, too old to play…

    • Brotha Tuna says:

Don’t you look forward to Big OL’ D. Dobbs locking up on Woodsen? Heh, heh, heh.

  6. Randy Suarez says:

Anyone looking forward to Davis catching a quick pass and running over Woodson ?! Or Jacobs dump pass running Through Woodson ?

    • ribico says:

Randy, if you can find evidence of Davis running over anyone, there’s a poster here on this blog that will offer you cash. Offer that is, not actually pay it. :P
