49ers could pluck players from swamp to become Golden Gators

OK, this is it. This is my final mock draft . . . until there’s a major trade today and this sucker instantly becomes obsolete.

* * *

1. Rams – Sam Bradford, QB, Oklahoma

Trying to get rid of this pick, but he’s the guy if they can’t find a taker.

2. Lions – Ndamukong Suh, DT, Nebraska

Tempting to take offensive tackle to protect last year’s investment.

3. Bucs – Gerald McCoy, DT, Oklahoma

Has everything to be a great fit in middle of Bucs’ defense.

4. Redskins – Trent Williams, OT, Oklahoma

Has the toughness and athleticism to be first tackle chosen.

5. Chiefs – Bryan Bulaga, OT, Iowa

Brandon Albert is the left tackle, Bulaga is best on right side.

6. Seahawks – Russell Okung, OT, Oklahoma State

Here’s the replacement for Walter Jones, a perennial All-Pro.

7. Browns – Eric Berry, S, Tennessee

This is high for a safety, but Berry is no ordinary safety.

8. Raiders – Anthony Davis, OT, Rutgers

Size, athleticism plus need makes this Al’s pick.

9. Bills – Rolando McClain, LB, Alabama

Buffalo gets a tackling machine in middle of defense.

10. Jaguars – C.J. Spiller, RB, Clemson

This pick saves Maurice Jones-Drew a few bruises.

11. Broncos – Brandon Graham, DE/OLB, Michigan

Nice combination with Elvis Dumervil on other side.

12. Dolphins – Derrick Morgan, DE, Georgia Tech

Not a perfect fit for the scheme, but best-passer-rusher gets the call

Haden.jpg13. 49ers – Joe Haden, CB, Florida

Any concerns about speed were erased with healthy pro day.

14. Seahawks – Jimmy Clausen, QB, Notre Dame

Difficult to find a place for him, but this is as good as any.

15. Giants – Earl Thomas, DB, Texas

If Haden is taken, the 49ers would consider him at No. 13.

16. Titans – Jason Pierre-Paul, DE, South Florida

Tennessee does back flips to get this immense talent.

Pouncey.jpg17. 49ers – Maurkice Pouncey, C, Florida

He’d move from guard to center after a couple seasons.

18. Steelers – Mike Iupati, G, Idaho

Guards are under-valued but he’s something special.

19. Falcons – Dan Williams, DT, Tennessee

Because he’s best at this position, his stock could soar.

20. Texans – Ryan Mathews, RB, Fresno State

Word is that the Chargers are interested in getting him.

21. Bengals – Dez Bryant, WR, Oklahoma State

A top-five talent whose series of missteps sends him sliding.

22. Patriots – Sergio Kindle, OLB, Texas

Bill Belichick gets a player to develop into dominant pass rusher.

23. Packers – Kyle Wilson, CB, Boise State

Veteran Al Harris is 35 and coming off knee injury.

24. Eagles – Kareem Jackson, CB, Alabama

He’s NFL-ready after playing for DB guru Nick Saban

25. Ravens – Jermaine Gresham, TE, Oklahoma

He’s an upgrade over Todd Heap, who’s not a threat in passing game.

26. Cardinals – Jerry Hughes, LB, TCU

They had their eye on Kindle, but he’s not falling this far.

27. Cowboys – Charles Brown, OT, USC

Good fit after cutting their long-time left tackle, Flozell Adams.

28. Chargers – Jahvid Best, RB, Cal

Speedster is better-suited to every down than Darren Sproles.

29. Jets – Terrence Cody, DT, Alabama

Coach Rex Ryan is not least-bit concerned with Cody’s weight.

30. Vikings – Colt McCoy, QB, Texas

Time to plan for 2015 when Brett Favre finally retires

31. Colts – Rodger Saffold, OT, Indiana

Rag-tag offensive line gets a first-rounder to help protect Peyton.

32. Saints – Brian Price, DT, Penn State

I feel inclined to mention DT Jared Odrick here … just because.

All the 49ers’ planning in the world can’t assure them anything when there’s 12 teams picking ahead of them at No. 13. But draft chief Trent Baalke says the 49ers are prepared for anything.

My colleague, Lowell Cohn, says the 49ers should use the depth in this draft to their benefit by trading back (if possible) and attempting what Bill Walsh achieved in 1986.
