Carlos Rogers wants a five to six year contract extension with the Niners

Matt Maiocco reports that Carlos Rogers would like to sign a long-term extension with the 49ers.

Here’s what Rogers said to Maiocco: “If we can get something worked out, that would be great. My agent (Todd France) knows that I like what’s going on here. This has been great for me, and I would love to get something worked out for five, six years.”

According to Pro Football Focus, Rogers has been the second-best cornerback in the NFL so far this season, behind only Darrelle Revis.

Rogers is 30 years old, so giving him a five to six year contract seems foolish. But he’s played so well for the Niners that Trent Baalke would have to consider giving him a three to four year deal when this season is over.
