Kaepernick: “I talk on the football field, yes I do.”

GLENDALE, AZ. — This is the transcript of Colin Kaepernick’s post-game press conference.

Q: You may have answered this before and I apologize but the offense plays better in the first half than the second. Why?

KAEPERNICK: I did answer that and it’s execution.

Q: Does that mean you execute better in the first half than the second half?

KAEPERNICK: We have so far.

Q: Do you understand why? Do you lose your concentration? Do you get tired?

KAEPERNICK: No.

Q: So you don’t know why.

KAEPERNICK: I do know why. Execution.

Q: This team started 1-2 last season. What’s different about being 1-2 this season?

KAEPERNICK: We should have two wins. Last year when we had two losses we didn’t play well at all. These games were close games that we should have won.

Q: What do you think of the way these past two games have been called by the officials?

KAEPERNICK: You’re asking that for a reason.

Q: Anquan Boldin said that he feels it has been one-sided. He said, “The crap is costing us games.” What do you think?

KAEPERNICK: I’m going to let him handle that.

Q: When you hear that you guys have been outscored 52-3 in the second half this season, what’s your reaction to that?

KAEPERNICK: We have to score more.

Q: There is a report today that you said a racial slur in the Bears’ game and that’s why you were penalized and fined. What’s your reaction to that?

KAEPERNICK: I’ve talked about that already.

Q: Are you saying you didn’t say anything?

KAEPERNICK: I’ve said that in the past and I’ll say it again.

Q: There is video of you saying something. It shows you saying something to Lamarr Houston.

KAEPERNICK: I didn’t say anything racially derogatory to him.

Q: But you said the other day that you didn’t say anything.

KAEPERNICK: I talk on the football field, yes I do.

Q: It seemed like you were very vocal at the beginning of the fourth quarter. Was that something you felt needed to happen then?

KAEPERNICK: Just going over what we were going to do to try to score at that point.

  1. And this is the guy all these fans love. Compare this transcript to that of Ahmad Brooks…Brooks has just as much reason to be mad and non-communicative, yet his answers are more than just 1 line sentences. Its one thing to not like how a player plays….but this dude makes it hard to like him as a person.

  2. I understood that when he said ” I didn’t say anything” he did not mean it literally rather just in the context of saying something forbidden. He didn’t say anything that could be penalized.

MJ people do not like him for his pressers but for his play. I am sure in a different Venue he is very articulate. I am sure the Niners could find a lot of QB who would be more engaging in press conferences. Why don’t you lobby for a stand up comic they would really be entertaining. Oh I forgot Alex was far more engaging at press conferences. It seems to me he has a good understanding of what is appropriate to talk about and what is not as in respect to Boldin’s penalty.

  3. Colin, even though Alex Smith is no longer a Niner,
you can still study his games and learn something.
He hooked up with six (6) receivers for double figures.
You have your same favorite two or three….or one….
He passed for three (3) TDs and no interceptions.
He interspersed gives to a running back for 132 yds.

How did it feel getting dropped for nine yards,
effecting killing a drive.? Thought you were more mobile..?
    more this, … more that… more whatever….

  4. Who is the d-bag reporter going after Kaepernick for the Bears game fine after the Cardinals game?

    1. Yea, I get someone should be called out on their lies, but there is a time and place for everything.

  5. Kaepernick called Houston a Nigga. He used it in the sentence he directed at Houston because Houston taunted Kap after he threw the pick. That’s why the ref didn’t repeat what Kap said. Kap lied about not say I g anything racially derogation because African American players have been directing that term AT EACH OTHER for 40 years in the NFL and professional sports. Kap and so many other Niner players apparently didn’t read the new rules in the NFL.
I’ve was firmly behind the guy before he started his 1st game. I’ve wanted him to succeed but I’ll say it again. He doesn’t get it. He has to change his entire attitude about this game. There is so much he doesn’t know or understand about this game, both on and off the field. The guy is arrogant and it’s crystal clear to me now. He’s not as good a quarterback as he thinks he is.
Todd Boles is one of tge if not the best defensive coordinator in the league. He gave Kap fits today. Kap is wondering how a defense sends six in after him and he still can’t find anyone open. That’s what he saw in the 2nd half.

        1. Kaep completed 78% of his passes today Jordan. Roman does not understand the concept of changing the flow of the game. Figured something was working in the first half and stayed with it. What Roman does not understand is that good coaches make adjustments. That more than anything is why we have been outscored 50-3 in the second halves of games.

Look this is a strange season. Culliver has the brass knuckles thing, Aldon sucked the wind out of this team with his suspension. Our offensive line is not healthy or in sync. Romans play calling is erratic. We have no offensive identity. We cannot pressure the QB. And the refs have called a ton of questionable calls on us at critical moments in the games. Add to that the fact that I believe Harbaugh and his rah rah stuff is wearing off. He’s losing the team. We have bad juju in the locker room right now…..

          1. I think you hit it right on the head. Roman has always been, and continues to be, an inconsistent and ineffective play caller. It was that way with Alex, and it’s been that way with Kap. At the end of the day, it’s obviously on the players to perform and execute well. But bad coaching has a negative impact.

          2. Bay,

I said the Karma was bad before the season started. There is just too much negative press associated with this team. It’s just too much for any team to overcome. It’s unfortunate. Can’t even name all the crap associated with this team. Now we’re out there committing penalties like the Raiders of the past years. I hope it gets turned around but I can’t see. I just can’t see it. It’s one of those years that’s not gonna go our way.

              1. That’s exactly what a #3 WR is suppose to do. Get the favorable matchup. Why do you think Brown caught 2 TD’s yesterday? Maybe because the 49ers were bent on stopping Fitzgerald.

Colin Kaepernick has insisted he didn’t say anything to prompt an $11,000 fine for inappropriate language.
GLENDALE, ARIZ. — Colin Kaepernick was fined more than $11,000 last week because of a racial slur he said following an interception to the Bears, according to Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer, who cited “refs” as his source in a tweet today.

Kaepernick was penalized for “inappropriate language” at the time. He has insisted he didn’t say anything and that he will appeal the fine levied by the NFL this week. Video of the episode shows Kaepernick saying something to Bears defensive lineman Lamarr Houston. He does not appear to use a slur, although it is difficult to say exactly what was uttered.

Houston told The Chicago Tribune he didn’t hear Kaepernick say anything.

Jim Harbaugh said he didn’t hear anything from his spot on the sideline and that he believes Kaepernick. “Colin’s always been truthful 100 percent of the time,” he said.

  6. Kap looked great…..he is not the reason the niners lost. he hit 2 receivers for 9 plus receptions…..he was as sharp as ive seen him. They lost this game and many more in the past draft. Instead of moving up in the draft to get impact players on D they stayed put and got an okay player like Ward. 49ers needed an impact player on the back end of the defense, Fuller 2picks last week, or Jason Varret , Pryor Jets safety, Buchanan Cardinals Safety(Kam Chancelor Clone) we just settled for okay type guys minus Hyde. 49ers could have moved up and got a game breaking Wide out like Watkins but just settled. Identity crisis is another issue, so many toys not enough time to play with all of them . Just give Roman some time and he will figure it out. The roster is still one of the top 3-4 in the league, they will be okay!

    1. S.Johnson was getting open because was covering Boldin and Crabtree most of the game. AZ didn’t care if Johnson catches the ball, they just don’t want to get beat by Bolding and Crabtree with a big play. That’s why in the 2nd half the Crads defense shut the 49ers offense down.
