Mock Draft 1.0

Here is version 1.0 of my 2012 NFL mock draft. All predictions are 100 percent accurate.

You’re welcome.

1. Indianapolis Colts: Andrew Luck, QB – Stanford. The Colts replace Peyton Manning with Luck, the Mobile Manning.

2. Washington Redskins: Robert Griffin III, QB – Baylor. Washington picks the other franchise quarterback in this draft.

3. Minnesota Vikings: Matt Kalil, OT – USC. Minnesota needs a left tackle, and Kalil is the best one.

4. Cleveland Browns: Trent Richardson, RB – Alabama. Replaces Peyton Hillis, instantly becomes the focal point of the offense.

5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Morris Claiborne, CB – LSU. The Bucs need cornerbacks because Ronde Barber is old and Aqib Talib may be going to jail. Claiborne is the best player available.

6. St. Louis Rams: Justin Blackmon, WR – Oklahoma State. Big-time help for Sam Bradford.

7. Jacksonville Jaguars: Michael Floyd, WR – Notre Dame. Big-time help for Blaine Gabbert, who needs all the help he can get.

8. Miami Dolphins: Ryan Tannehill, QB – Texas A&M. The Dolphins hope he’s their quarterback of the future.

9. Carolina Panthers: Quinton Coples, DE – UNC. Huge talent who can rush the passer from every position on the defensive line.

10. Buffalo Bills: Stephen Hill, WR – Georgia Tech. For the same reason that Jacksonville drafted Floyd, the Bills will draft Hill. They need to give QB Ryan Fitzpatrick all the help he can get, so they reach for a receiver. Hill will compliment Stevie Johnson, the flanker.

11. Kansas City Chiefs: Michael Brockers, DT/DE – LSU. Has the potential to become a monster five-technique defensive tackle who can play all three downs – a much more valuable player than a NT like Dontari Poe, who can only play on running downs. The Chiefs need a defensive lineman and Brockers is the best one available.

12. Seattle Seahawks: David DeCastro, OG – Stanford. Replaces Robert Gallery.

13. Arizona Cardinals: Reilly Reiff, OT – Iowa. Arizona needs a tackle and Reiff is the best one available.

14. Dallas Cowboys: Fletcher Cox, DT/DE – Mississippi State. Future replacement for Kenyon Coleman, who’s a free agent after this season.

15. Philadelphia Eagles: Devon Still, DT – Penn State. The Eagles absolutely need a defensive tackle, and Still has the potential to be a very good one.

16. New York Jets: Melvin Ingram, DE – South Carolina. They’ve needed a pass rusher for years.

17. Cincinnati Bengals: Dre Kirkpatrick, CB – Alabama. Nate Clements is getting old and Leon Hall ruptured his Achilles last season, so the Bengals drat a cornerback.

18. San Diego Chargers: Courtney Upshaw, DE/OLB – Alabama. The Chargers need a pass rusher who can also play outside linebacker in their 3-4 defense. That’s Upshaw.

19. Chicago Bears: Whitney Mercilus, DE – Illinois. The Bears want a pass rusher to compliment Julius Peppers.

20. Tennessee Titans: Stephon Gilmore, CB – South Carolina. Replaces Cortland Finnegan.

21. Cincinnati Bengals: Cordy Glenn, OG – Georgia. The Bengals want a big guard to help their run game.

22. Cleveland Browns: Kendall Wright, WR – Baylor. The Browns need more explosive play makers on offense.

23. Detroit Lions: Janoris Jenkins, CB – North Alabama. Replaces Eric Wright.

24. Pittsburgh Steelers: Dont’a Hightower, ILB – Alabama. Replaces James Farrior.

25. Denver Broncos: Jerel Worthy, DT – Michigan State. The Broncos need a defensive lineman and Worthy is the best one available.

26. Houston Texans: Luke Kuechly, ILB – Boston College. Replaces DeMeco Ryans.

27. New England Patriots: Nick Perry, DE/OLB – USC. The Patriots need another pass rusher to compliment Rob Ninkovich.

28. Green Bay Packers: Andre Branch, DE/OLB – Clemson. The Packers need another pass rusher to compliment Clay Mathews.

29. Baltimore Ravens: Peter Konz, OG – Wisconsin. Replaces Ben Grubbs.

30: SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS: COBY FLEENER, TE – STANFORD. Solves the Niners’ offensive ineptitude on third down.

31. New England Patriots: Mark Barron, SS – Alabama. The best player available and New England needs a safety.

32. New York Giants: Mike Adams, OT – Ohio State. The Giants need a right tackle and some project Adams as a top-15 pick.
