Accord to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the 49ers are one of five teams interested in free agent return man Josh Cribbs.
Cribbs, who will be 30 years old next season, was a Pro Bowl return man in 2007 and 2009, when he averaged 30.7 and 27.5 yards per kick return, respectively. Last season, he averaged 27.4 yards per kick return.
Cribbs could be a replacement for the 49ers’ free agent returner, Ted Ginn Jr. But the 49ers have other good returners on their roster already. Last season, LaMichael James averaged 29.8 yards per kick return, and Kyle Williams averaged 27.2 yards per kick return. Williams also averaged 13 yards per punt return, while Cribbs averaged 12 yards per punt return.
Do you think the 49ers should sign Cribbs? Why or why not?
