Alex Smith on the Lions: “The D line is definitely a strength of theirs. I mean, just look at them.”

SANTA CLARA – Alex Smith spoke in front of his locker Wednesday afternoon. He talked about turnovers, Randy Moss and the upcoming opponent – the Detroit. Lions. Here’s a transcript.

Q: You’ve gone 185 pass attempts without an interception? Who do you give the most credit to that?

ALEX SMITH: Throwing the football – the quarterback gets the attention, but it’s very much a team thing. A lot to do with protection up front, stepping into the pocket and throwing. A lot to do with the guys outside, running routes, making strong catches, even sometimes being defenders when it’s not what we’re looking for when the ball goes up. There’s a lot that goes into it. Definitely a team statistic.

Q: How much has your decision making improved this year?

ALEX SMITH: It’s always a work in progress. You’re always trying to get better and to make the right decisions. And then from there, throwing an accurate football. It always changes week to week. It’s something I try to take pride in.

Q: You guys talk a lot about turnovers.

ALEX SMITH: Yeah, we talk a lot about it. There’s a lot of different statistics, and they all have different correlations to winning, and the turnover battle is the No.1. In the history of the NFL, it’s the strongest correlation to winning and losing. We understand that. You can’t go out and play like that. You can’t just go out and be conservative, try not to turn the ball over and expect to win games. The goal is still to try to go out and execute well and win the turnover battle while doing that.

Q: When did you start to realize you had a pretty good streak going?

ALEX SMITH: I had no idea. Didn’t know until after the game when they told me. No clue that I was close to one.

Q: You broke Young’s record who broke Montana’s record. What does that mean to you?

ALEX SMITH: Very cool. Obviously it’s an elite group here that’s played this position for this organization. It’s an honor just to be mentioned with those guys.

Q: What’s the difference you’re seeing the Lions’ defense from the last time you played them.

ALEX SMITH: I think the defense as a whole has just continued to change. The D line is definitely a strength of theirs. I mean, just look at them. A lot of guys up front who can all play football. A strength of theirs’, for sure. They’ve added some things as far as the whole defensive scheme, they do a little bit more. In general, still similar to the team we played last year. Same system in place. But you never know. You play a team twice, pretty sure it’s not going to be the same way they played us last time. Got to get ready of some of that unknown, what they’re going to try to take away, what their focus will be.

Q: Do you think they’re still mad?

ALEX SMITH: For sure. Any time you play recently in a game like that – a hard fought battle, they were undefeated, we were 5-1 and that was a big, televised game coming down to the last play. No question, any time those games happen, for sure, they stick with you.

Q: What did winning that game mean for you guys?

ALEX SMITH: Big win for us. On the road, traveling three hours east, nationally televised game, playing indoors, hostile environment and finding a way to win in the fourth quarter. I think those are things that you build off of as the season goes on, those types of wins.

Q: How do you develop the poise to win on the road?

ALEX SMITH: As a team it comes from knowing the situations and not letting them get too big. Continue to play football. I think the ones that try to do too much or let those situations overwhelm them don’t do it. The teams that kind of go about their business and continue to execute put themselves in a position to make plays at the end.

Q: How comfortable are you with Randy Moss at this point?

ALEX SMITH: Feel good with all our guys, Randy included. It continues to build and evolve and change as the season goes on. It was our first week in season mode together.

Yeah, the Lions are good. And its going to make the butt whipin Jim has planned on them thats gonna be sweet. Oh yeah..Jim going for two when he’s ahead 49-0..! just watch.

    • Matt says:

      Priceless!

    • D Rogue says:

I hope so, that would be awesome!

While many people blame Harbaugh for the handshake incident due to his firm shake and hard slap on the back, don’t forget Schwartz yelling across the field to Harbaugh to “know the rules.” Jim’s gonna put on as much whoop ass and humiliation as possible… at least I hope he does.

  2. undercenter says:

Alex you just keep doing what you are doing. Its just fine. Turnovers are the number one reason why a team losses or wins. Other factors also contribute to the wins and losses but none like turnovers. 20-26 on passes, 200+ yards, 2 tds, 0 turnovers, you will win lots more then you lose with those kind of numbers. Two of the best QBs lost last weekend, both threw over 300 yards. I will take wins over stats any day any game.

    • DS94everXev says:

      Nahhh

I want AS to throw it deep every time. If the guy is covered, so what. Be a man, and gun it in there. Does it matter that you don’t find nearly as many old gunmen in the old west as you do young gunmen?

No. I just want me some excitement. Our D will hold up against any number of TO’s I reckon. So, Alex, go on in there and fire away. Enough of this boring play which brings the team victories. I want Sportscenter since my attention span only lasts about 30 seconds anyway.

What was undercenters post about again? Don’t matter. I want a guy who ain’t scared to lose the lead in order for himself to look better.
      :- )

      • ribico says:

DS, I think that attitude is slowly draining from those who once held it. It gets to a point where it’s hard to argue against great success, no matter how tightly clamped your previous beliefs were.

      • DS94everXev says:

        ribico

Should the unlikely event of a Niner loss happen this year (lol), do you think these same people you are referring too will not more or less write something similar to the post above? Minus the sarcasm and instead be completely serious about it.

I think they will complain about some pass that was not attempted to a WR who got open after the ball was in the process of leaving AS’s hand and moan about it. Just like in the Title game and the Denver game (which by the way we won).

We’ll have to see. Though I’d prefer we didn’t.

      • FDM says:

Winning makes people change their perception very quickly. Knowledgeable die hard fans knew this about Smith all along because he never had stability, continuity, good coaching and talent around him. Now he does and just like any QB, he can just go out there and play with confidence.

      • Grumpy Guy says:

Alex played the best game of his career Sunday. Against a good (not great, but good) in a very hostile road environment, he was consistent and effective. Not perfect, but more than good enough to win. We still have room for improvement on third down, but it’s a work in progress, and I’m satisfied we are moving in the right direction.

I’m skeptical of his ability to play at that level most of the time, but I think he is at least a good quarterback now. I was prepared to open this year 0-2 if it took time for the chemistry on offense to come together. Luckily for us, that does not seem to be an issue.

If we do lose a few games along the way, it won’t be the end of the world, and I’m not going to scourge Alex because we came up a little short. I’ll be critical of deficiencies in his play, if they emerge, but it is unrealistic to blame him and him alone for every loss.

On the whole, I think he has earned the starting position this year, and the right to see how far he can lead us.

Under – Great post….wins not style points!
“Clutch” has developed into a splendid QB.

  3. hackjammer says:

Hey Grant, remember when you said the 49ers would be like 11-5 at best? I remember that. Oh, yes, I remember that. I remember it well, like the long nights of yesteryears fall. I remember it as well as I do my fondest years as a child, as i so do remember those times quite vividly. I remember as one does remember the first rain after a long dry season, or the first woman that one truly knows. Oh yes, grant, I remember. And I’ll never forget.

  4. niner says:

does it count that Montana and young never had an championship half were they had only 1 3rd down? If yu are scared to throw the ball 3rd and long so you throw it away you dont get int do you?

  5. dc9er says:

Randy Moss was single covered most of the packer game…..think we will see Alex go to Moss a little more this game?

    • john says:

he may have been singled covered but they played him deep and a saftey was on him later in game it was hard to get some deep routes in which is why they connected a lot for those medium gains

  6. Jack Hammer says:

Did anyone else notice the change of Crabtree’s gear from years past and even the preseason?

  7. 23jordan says:

My concern in this game is Smiths pocket awareness. Often times when Smith knows that he’s playing a vaunted pass rush, he tends to anticipate the pressure when it’s not necessarily there. I know that a couple of those sacks in the packer game were attributed to pocket awareness. Alex has to get that ball out a little quicker. I hope we run it down their throats just like we did against the Pack. The lions defense against the run will be better.

    • Johnny Christo says:

Last week was his first as a Niner where he didn’t do the Happy Dance a single time. Not once. Calm and poised the entire game. Impressed. Repeat…

    • Prime Time says:

Dont be concerned about Alex now 23welcher, you didn’t believe in him ever and all he has done is win games. Pocket presence, accuracy, winning by throwing the ball in comeback wins, taking charge were all things you have been concerned with in the past and all Smith has done is his job.

      • AES* says:

        Prime,

Aside from now taking charge, and throwing much better, AS did have these issues in the past.

He has improved under Habaugh, but his game had many gaps pre-Harbaugh. I started to change my mind regarding AS last year because his improvements were obvious. AS is finally reaching the potential the Org and many of the Faithful longed for.
Good for him and good for the 49ers!

      • Prime Time says:

AES, let’s be honest, SF was a gong show back then. Probably the most dysfunctional organization until JH arrived. However, fans like you put it all on Smith, like he was the only player holding the team back. The weak link that everyone labelled him as. Now he is the most stable player playing with confidence and providing great leadership where everyone has rallied around him.

      • DS94everXev says:

AS issue in the past was he was running for his life, had no options to throw the ball to if the first is covered (Joe said that, not me), a combo of HCs who suck and whose best piece of advice they gave him was “Go make a play.”

JH showed up and knew a just a little bit more than those guys. And despite a lockout which put the offense as a whole behind the learning curve (AS said himself he didn’t know all of his reads last year) he still led the team to the title game.

Now for the first time in his career, he has a real HC with the same system, and he went out there and beat the guy who everybody has been clamoring for the last 8 years about. In a place where Steve Young,, Elvis Grback, and Jeff Garcia failed to do so. And this was the first time he had a team capable of really beating the Packers.

Only problem here is that people think they know that which they don’t. Frank Gore knows. Vernon Davi knows. JH knows.

It would have been this way a long time ago if JH were here.

      • Prime Time says:

DS not saying I’m an expert but I knew. It was never rocket science. Just look at every winning team in the NFL and every one of those programs has had the same coaches, system, and players in consecutive years. Talent helps, continuity solidifies your chance of being successful and having a chance to be competitive.

      • 23jordan says:

        Prime,

Still following my posts huh kid. I see you’re the only eyesore left on the blog. Lets hope you get banned next. You and the red nose you wear. Grow up. It appears the blog is taking a positive turn. Look up maturity in the dictionary. The name is 23jordan.

      • claude balls says:

        @23welcher:

It appears the blog is taking a positive turn.

Not with you still here welching and disrespecting the team’s starting QB.

    • 23jordan says:

      Prime,

Do you really think I’m concerned about Smith. Consistency is the name of the game. Still waiting for JH to take the diaper off. So he checked down for 210 yards. We saw that last year. He still can’t step away from 5 sacks a game. Still no pocket presence. Just as fast as he can go 20-26, he can go 16-26 for 130 yards and take 8 sacks. 1 game as never made a season. CONSISTENCY!!!!

      • claude balls says:

        A welcher says “what.”

      • Prime Time says:

23welcher, what you never seem to understand is that winning is all that matters. 20-26, 1-30, no sacks, 10 sacks, who cares kid. It’s about WINS!
I could care less if Alex wore diapers while doing it, heck he could have a dialysis bag strapped to his arse for all I care! As long as the team is winning, what else matters.
I know your finding anything little thing to diminish Alex, it’s your game. But your game has been played and now your just a like a knock knock joke, you heard it once you have heard it once too many.

      • FDM says:

Welcher 23 jordan, do you not think its time to let the whole Alex Smith thing go by now. I mean all your predictions from Alex not being back to Johnson winning the job, at what point do you say to yourself, I have no clue to what Im talking about or are you really just trying to get a rise on this blog?

“AES, let’s be honest, SF was a gong show back then. Probably the most dysfunctional organization until JH arrived. However, fans like you put it all on Smith, like he was the only player holding the team back.”

    @Prime
Beg to differ Prime. I never put it ALL on AS. Your ‘gong show’ analogy is a good one because the whole team was horrible.
But AS was the #1 overall pick in 2005, so obviously the expectations were high.
Isn’t this the same theory/measure you and DS use on MC?

Now, I give you, DS, Hofe, and others kudos for never doubting AS even when others like myself did.

At the time I was not going to jump into the empty swimming pool that was Alex Smith’ career. It’s not that I disliked him, I just felt that he was not the answer.

AS has been given a second chance at a NFL career under Harbaugh and he is ‘taking the bull by the horns’ which I said he had to do about two years ago.

I’m glad for him. If you want to chide me for that, go for it.
But as I told MD, AS is starting to play like the QB we drafted him to be.
Good for him, and good for the team.

    • Prime Time says:

AES, it was never about Smith the person or player. It was about the situation and adversity he had to face once drafted by the 49ers. Just because your a #1 pick overall, does not mean your going to be a star/ savior. I think a lot of people thought that but what you and the other haters never recognized was that in order for a QB, 1st round or 7th round pick, you need to develop in the NFL with an organization that provides you with stability, continuity and coaching.
Why was Smith so awful back then to now? All those things I mentioned. Look at Bradford now in STL. Working on his 3rd OC in 3 years. Is he playing like a savior of the franchise as a #1 pick?
See I dont think you haters understand the NFL game. It’s all about stats, when in reality it is always a process. You don’t win overnight and Smith has to continue to improve.
It wasn’t a matter of believing in Smith or I told you so about Smith. It was and is about the organization providing a complete environment for Smith to utilize those 1st round pick intangibles. He always had the skills set, but never the direction or stability of a system year after year. People never wanted to use that, they just thought that if your a #1 pick, you will be great. Does not work that way, never has in the history of the NFL.

      • ribico says:

        >>People never wanted to use that, they just thought that if your a #1 pick, you will be great.

“Go out and make a play”.

Prime, can we help it if some fans have a Singletary mindset?

      • AES says:

As a fan I don’t like being put in the hater category, but if you feel that being critical of the obvious flaws in AS’ game is hating that’s on you.

AS still has some areas that need work. But he’s turned the corner and his best days are ahead of him.

      • Prime Time says:

@rib, and a lot of that mentality should be placed on Dr.John York and Jed for the knee jerk reaction hires. It was only after meeting with Robert Kraft extensively by Jed and having Eddie his uncle counsel him on how it works in the NFL that they turned it around.
Talented players like Bradford, Newton, RGIII will be good players, but they will never be great or win anything without a good supporting cast. This is the ultimate team game. The Niners may not be the most talented, but they have a chance to win because they have confidence in their system, and they are playing like a team that has continuity and belief in the guy beside them.
Management finally figured that out and it’s working. It’s worked in the past, just ask Kraft and Eddie D, tow great owners who have had success this way.

      • Prime Time says:

AES not understanding the flaws and making blanket statements repeatedly over the years makes you a hater. Nothing personal, just the way it has always been around here. Maybe if you would have looked as to reasons why Alex’s game was flawed insted of being hypercritical, the term would no apply to you. Just saying. Now let’s move on to more winning!

    • Hoferfan67 says:

“Hofe, and others kudos for never doubting AS even when others like myself did.”

AES, doubt didn’t have anything to do with it. My perspective was always regarding the Org – system, program, and plan. How many times did I write those three words in 2009 – Feb 2011?

      • AES says:

Fair enough Hofe. I knew that those were factors as well.
And I gave AS the benefit of a doubt because of that.

But there were some obvious issues that had nothing at all to do with the items you mentioned.

AS had some accuracy issues that can’t be blamed on outside sources. He was either holding the ball to long or checking down when it was not necessa.ry. That falls under lack of pocket presence.

Also, I did not see confidence in the huddle.

      • Hoferfan67 says:

“AS had some accuracy issues that can’t be blamed on outside sources.”

AES, it absolutely has to do with outside sources. If the org hires HC that don’t have a plan or can’t teach, then success is stifled. Great coaches teach. Otherwise who can help the team or AS with their/his flaws? This 9er staff seems to having teaching coaches on board. It makes a world of difference and the players get the feeling the coaches know what they are doing. It resonates throughout. The verifiable evidence is the record and level of confidence.

      • claude balls says:

He was either holding the ball to long or checking down when it was not necessary.

With all due respect, without knowing what play was called or what his reads were, that was nothing more than speculation on your part.

Also, I did not see confidence in the huddle.

I am amazed by the ability of people more than 100 feet away in the stands or watching at home on their TVs to look at a huddle and determine a player’s confidence level.

      • FDM says:

AES says, AS had some accuracy issues that can’t be blamed on outside sources. He was either holding the ball to long or checking down when it was not necessa.ry. That falls under lack of pocket presence.

Also, I did not see confidence in the huddle.

Think about this, if you had to learn an entire new playbook, of over 200 plays, 5 years staright, do you think you would play with confidence and a looseness that instills the confidence in yourself or the teammates around you?
Go back and find the quote Urban Meyer said about Smith. If the 49ers did their homework on Smith which now clearly shows Mikle Nolan didnt, then they would have done everything possible to give Smith what he needed to develop and succeed. Insted, they did the complete opposite for him.

    • ninermd says:

I never put it ALL on smith. I simply called it like I saw it. The smith fans couldn’t handle the truth. So yes with people like oneniner being disrespectful back then I did go overboard just to smack the crap talkers. I feel I’ve been fair about smith. All I wanted him to do was get lost or get better. He has shut me up. And that stared last year. But to call him an all pro or compare him to the greatness of our HOF legends is ridiculous. To this day he still needs improvement. BUT I’m rolling with him 100 percent. He has earned that from me. I’m a 49er fan first. And if he can play well and not kill comebacks or leads like the past I’m ALL IN!!!! GO NINERS!!!!

  9. rocket says:

I look at few events that really derailed Smith’s career.

    1) Getting drafted by the Niners first overall. Don’t laugh. This was not a good thing for a 20 year old QB who was coming from a pure College spread. Anywhere else, and maybe he gets to sit and learn for awhile with some more talent, but coming to the Niners after Donahue had destroyed whatever talent was left was a disaster.

    2) Norv Turner getting the HCing in SD. This was a monumental setback to Smith’s career. He had gone from Deer in the Headlights as a rookie to starting every game and throwing 16 TD’s after only 1 his rookie season. The team improved to 7 wins and all was looking up and then Turner gets the Charger job. From there it was a complete disaster as they promoted from within, with a guy who didn’t have a clue how to call a game.

    3) Smith suffers a severe shoulder injury in Week 4. This would affect Smith both physically and mentally for two + years as the injury didn’t heal properly forcing him to miss a full season after this. Came back to soon when he wasn’t healthy and had to deal with his HC questioning his toughness for it.

There was many more along the way but these 3 instances stick out as the most responsible for Smith not succeeding up until last season. He actually didn’t play to badly when he came back after the 2nd shoulder surgery, but he was QB of a team with no leadership or offensive acumen and felt that he had to make chicken salad out of chicken sh*t everytime he stepped on the field.

The best thing that happened to this franchise in a decade came when the Niners were officially eliminated from the Playoffs after a loss at St. Louis and Singletary was fired. If they had won that game and snuck into the playoffs, Sing is probably kept for another year and this team loses out on the change to hire Harbaugh. Now we have an elite Coaching staff, a talented team and most of all, a QB who is confident because he knows the system. The one thing everyone who knew him said he had to have to be successful – comeplete understanding of the offensive system – and it took 7 years for somebody to give him that opportunity. Looking back I just smh because practically everything the Niners did was detrimental to his development. He’s not perfect, but you have to tip your cap to this guy for his perseverance.

  10. AES says:

Guys, all of you make good points, but I stand by my premise that AS had some accuracy issues that can’t be blamed on outside sources.

Throws that are over the head or falling short of the receivers are in fact accuracy problems.

Bradford’ career is almost a mirror of AS’ dark ages but with one caveat, the guy is accurate and shows good pocket presence.

    • Hoferfan67 says:

AES, my final thoughts on your comment and this thread. Yes AS had some accuracy issues – that’s not debatable. The point is, who was here (HC = outside sources) at that time to correct those accuracy issues??

      • AES* says:

Here are my last thoughts as well Hofe.
Coaches don’t throw the ball for their QB.’ They can teach the proper techniques of the position but at some point the player must appropriate it on the field.

Yes, AS did not have the stars aligned in his favor early in his career. And maybe his shoulder injuries hampered his passing accuracy? But be that as it may, it was still an issue.

Even with bad coaching and absolutely no creativity on offense, it does not excuse a pro-QB from being inaccurate. Accuracy is a must for QB’.
When you have a receiver open you must be able to put the ball within a catchable sphere.

On not having control of the huddle. No, I could not hear what was being said in the huddle, but I could see AS’ body language as well as the players around him.

And no, I don’t put this all on AS because their was a spirit of apathy that permeated from top to bottom and became the culture of the team until Harbaugh broke the curse (lol).

But as I said to Prime; I’m glad that AS has turned the corner and is becoming one of the most respected QB’ in the league.
Prime is still intent on calling me a hater because I was critical of AS’ flaws. All good, no probs. That’s his prerogative (I’m thinking of Bobby Brown’ old hit as I write this, lol).
But I will call it as I see it, because that’s my prerogative!

      • Prime Time says:

AES your still not anknowledging all the things that has caused Alex to have flaws in his game.
“And maybe his shoulder injuries hampered his passing accuracy?
Are you serious, your questioning whether a separated shoulder would affect his throwin accuracy, c’mon man, that is pathetic! You dont have to be an orthopedic surgeon to figure that out.

As for the huddle, “but I could see AS’ body language as well as the players around him”

That’s is a complete made up lie. You have no idea what AS or anybody else around him were thinking. Dont pretend you have knowledge of how to read body language.

See AS your a hater because you can’t even admit the things AS ha had to endure his entire career as fact. Insted you just keep questioning it over and over.
Why can’t you guys just say, he had a tough ride, he is playing well now, let’s move on. Insted you still want to debate the facts, all in, get serious!

      • DS94everXev says:

        Prime

AES hasn’t a clue. An injured shoulder which until just this year has never been really looked over, will impact throwing the ball.

Had MC an injured hand, and I blame him for a drop, AES would come screaming about the injured hand causing the drop.

Don’t know if that means AES is a hypocrite. But it certainly isn’t a nice term.

      • Jack Hammer says:

Alex Smith played at almost the same level in 2009 and 2010 as he did 2011. The difference is that the he and the team are much better prepared than they were under the previous coaches. Harbaugh/Roman took the pressure off of him and he responded by reducing the number of int’s.

Just like every player there are still a few areas of weakness to his game, but Harbaugh/Roman do a great job of playing to his strengths.

If he keeps playing like he did on Sunday, and the line can continue to keep the running game going this offense will be difficult to stop.

      • ninermd says:

jack…… Statistically yes. But as far as clutch? Not even close. Only the second quarter int vs Dallas was the only game changing TO by smith last season. Before he was a turn over game killing machine. Much better at taking care of the ball. Now if he can only let it go a little more. Smith has finally arrived. Any qb that can lead a drive in his first playoff game and win. Is all good with me. AND ANY qb that can go into GB and do his part to help the team BEAT the snot out of GB definitely has my support.

      • Jack Hammer says:

        md,

I referenced how he improved on the turnover’s. As for the comebacks, he has always been good at bringing the team back when down. When he is in desperate situations he plays his best.

And I agree, what he did last week was impressive. I think he will do even better this week.

    @DS
Well DS, how about this for a clue; you my friend are a drama-queen!
You are the only person on the blog (now that your mentor oneniner has been banned) that can take a statement and turn it completely from it’s original intent.

I said that AS’ accuracy issues may have been attributed to his shoulder injuries. But while you use this as an excuse, I state that it was an issue just the same. To Alex’ credit he has never complained about any of the things you mentioned.

But if want to live in the past, that’s on you. I’m looking forward to a magical season!

Seriously Prime? You have the go-nads to call others haters after your classless rants about MC over TC?

That would mean you would have to have an opinion and stick with it by supporting it with facts and intelligent thought. You have been “All In capable” of that forever, hence the alias Flip Flopper.
No need to convince me or others what type of fan you are, we get it.

      Niners 20
      Lions 7

Prime, looks like you’re echoing your master oneniner’s schtick.
Still waiting for you to show me where I disparaged AS.

All noise and no substance bud.
But that’s to be expected from a oneniner wannabe (lol).

Saying MC’ numbers were “meaningless” really shows off your football IQ doesn’t it?
    Hahaha!

    • Prime Time says:

No need to prove anything, nor am I interested in researching your past comments. If it means saying your right to not find your disparaging comments so be it. At the end of the day, you and I both know what type of fan you are, no need to embarrass you any longer.
You have some anal retentive issues to deal with, good luck pal, we are done til you get some therapy!

      • AES says:

Why? I’m interested in you proving where I disparaged AS. You make claims that you can’t back.

        No teeth behind your bark?
        Figures.
If the glove don’t fit, you must aquit (lol)!

      • Prime Time says:

@AES, found 3 comments where you are not ALL IN and critical of Alex. Now like your hater friends, you are proven wrong again!

        Look it up;

The game will be a blow out, Niners 35- Lions 10.

I heard a couple of people on here, have gotten banned. Is this going to affect their credit or future career opportunities? Only serious responses needed.

    • Brotha Tuna says:

Well, it might limit any future employment opportunities with CohnZone, but they should be OK with GMAC Finance & Visa.

“If you refuse to join me on the basis that you just won’t, that is YOU adding drama to the blog.”

    @DS
“If you refuse to join me.”
Having a little Darth Vadar moment eh?
Let’s see, joining you means I would need to become a drama-queen, passive-aggresive, oh, and my all time favorite; being a clone of ‘oneniner.’

Ah, thanks, but no thanks DS. Pitch your propaganda and agendas to someone who doesn’t know you (lol).

    • DS94everXev says:

I asked for you to join me in defending a Niner player. You said no. You say you are All In. Well, that proved you aren’t. You’ll defend one player, but not another?

By the act itself, t proves you are a liar. You can’t be all in, then defend on player, and completely ignore somebody attacking another player.

If you refuse to join me on being All in, that is on you AES.

      • AES says:

How can I put this DS?
        %@@&#&NO!
Never join someone who headed up the hate MC agenda.

Hey, but nice try DS, I’ll give you an A for agenda (lol)!

      • DS94everXev says:

        AES

Look at your opening paragraph. Tell me you didn’t just introduce a lot of drama in that.

I’ll let you check the polls first so you give the answer that is most popular at the moment.

Drama king! I announce AES is the man most deserving of this title.

      • 23jordan says:

DS, I’ll never understand how you continue to try and tell people what to do and how to think. Do you really need help defending a player you like? Just support the player you like by supporting your arguments with facts. Makes no sense to always tell someone that they should support the players you support.
        I don’t understand why that’s necessary.

      • DS94everXev says:

        23J

        Stay out of it. Thanks.

Have a pleasant evening and go Niners!

  22. AES says:

That’s the difference between you and me DS. I blog for polls and popularity, I give opinion because I can. Hey, I’m sure Prime will give you his vote.
Oh, my bad, I forgot he was your running mate (lol).

  23. AES says:

    *I *don’t

    • DS94everXev says:

No. You got it right the first time AES. The evidence is clear after years.

      • Prime Time says:

I think he meant to flip insted of flop DS. This happens sometimes when your confused and don’t know where you stand.

      • DS94everXev says:

I’m impressed he keeps track of it quite frankly prime.

      • Prime Time says:

I think it’s funny how people on here are predicting blow out scores in the high 30′s. This game will be close and played like a playoff game. The Niners will not go vertical very often, insted using their ground attack and short passing game to wear down the Lions.
The Lions are not a bad team and their front 4 is for real. Runs inside will be tough and it will be a game of chess.
We will win but it will be close, a late special teams score makes it 20-7 SF.

      • DS94everXev says:

        Prime

I don’t care for predicting scores. If you predict a blowout win, and it is a close win, or a loss, you (not you specifically) automatically come in wanting to attack and blame somebody (AKA AS).

As opposed to just wanting the team to win. If they win, by whatever/however, you will be happy. Won’t get mad if they won by 3 when you thought 30 was a sure bet.

      • Prime Time says:

Well said, I just think this will be a closer game than a lot of people are predicting.

    @Prime
(lol) Hey Prime, sorry to interrupt your “Mean Girls” slumber party with DS.

But just post my comments Prime. You’re the one that is intent of doing some CSI work. Post my comments and prove that they disparage AS the way you have disparaged MC bud.

Just remember that you have set the level of hate by calling MC’ last season’s stats “meaningless.” If I have lowered myself beneath your level you have my apologies!
    Your move……

    • DS94everXev says:

      AES

I’ve also called stats in football meaningless. That means AS’s as well. You know that. But you choose to ignore it because you think you sound cooler. To some you do. But not to all. And not a one whom I respect.

      • AES says:

Really DS? Show me where and when you specifically called AS’ stats meaningless.
No DS, your feelings of AS and MC are at opposite extremes (lol).

Even if you can find proof that you said AS’ stats are meaningless, there’s no masking your real intent about MC; Hate!

But hey DS, you really don’t need to prove anything to me bud. But at least show a sense of accountability to yourself (lol).

      • BigP says:

        BS,
Do you have anything else in your life besides this blog? Seriously. It is pathetic that you have nothing else to do with your life but to comment on this blog, all day, every day. It doesn’t make you a fan, it makes you a loser.

      • AES says:

BTW, I’m not just cooler (can that word be used in this context?), I’m Super-cooler (lol)!

        Good night DS,
        It’s been fun.

      • ninermd says:

Lol ds never said As stats were meaningless. It said stats were when smiths bad numbers were brought up. But then ds decided to post Montana vs Alex smiths stats up. Funny ain’t it?
